Davis below from family who helped him evade capture in Poland 97th BG B-17G 44-8166 with Davis on board was shot down over O?wi?cim, Poland. Sgt. Morgan C. Davis bailed out over Niepo?omice Forest and was rescued by my brother Tadeusz Szczepa?ski. They hid in the forest until night time, during the night he took Davis to our family home in Niepo?omice. After two or three days when Davis’ health had stabilized and my father had found a safer location, Davis was moved to the village of Wola Batorska to the home of the former Chaplain, Second Division Dion of Armored Trains of the Polish Army Unit located in Niepo?omice before the Second World War. Davis stayed with Chaplain Krupa up to January 26, 1945. At the end of January he was contacted at the American Military Office in Krakow and he was returned to the U.S.
