Gerard Ferrara
Gerard "Duke" Ferrara, 98, of Nutley, NJ died on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at his Nutley home. Mr. Ferrara retired in 1966 as a security guard for the Newark Board of Education.
Born in Newark, Mr.Ferrara resided there until becoming a Nutley resident three years ago. A World War II Army veteran, he served and saw air combat with the 757th Bomb Squadron. He also was an avid golfer.
Mr. Ferrara was the uncle of Misses Maryann and Teresa Peronti, and Onofrio A. Peronti and his wife, Loren, and the great-uncle of Joseph.
Memorial funeral mass 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lucy's R.C. Church, 118 7th Ave., Newark. Funeral arrangements provided by the Irvine-Cozzarelli Memorial Home, 276 Washington Ave., Belleville. Final disposition private.
Pfc Gerard M Ferrara was assigned to the 459th BG 757th Squadron.
