Morris Fishbein
Tech/Sgt Morris Fishbein-Radio Operator/Mechanic/Waist Gunner- with his crew,1st row 3rd from left on the hardstand next to his B-24,Giulia Field, Italy,1945. Tech Sgt Morris Fishbein served with the 758th BS and flew 31 combat sorties from October 7, 1944 to April 26, 1945 ( and no doubt would have completed 35 combat missions except his Mission # 31 to Tarivisio,IT was the last mission flown by the 459th BG with the end of the European War). He partipated in one of the crucial air and ground battles of the war-Flying on 13 missions from 4/5/45 to 4/24/45 in the Bologna-Brenner Pass Air Campaign, Italy to harass and "frag" bomb the German Troops as they tried to retreat out of North Italy( see his Combat Mission Record ).In addition to the Air Medal and at least 2 oak leaf clusters, he received the Service and Good Conduct Medals.
