Anthony La Spina
Sgt. ANTHONY J. LA SPINA AGE: 94 FLORHAM PARK Anthony J. La Spina of Florham Park died on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at his home. He was 94 years old. Mr. LaSpina was born in New York City and lived in Summit before he moved to Florham Park in 1952. Mr. LaSpina was a milkman for Canoe Brook Farms Dairy later taken over by Sealtest, in Short Hills, for 30 years. He later worked for the Florham Park Sewage Authority for many years. He retired 30 years ago. He was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran and a member of the POW 459th Bombardment Group and the American Legion Post 43 in Florham Park. Mr. La Spina was a member of the West End Garden Club in Florham Park. He loved to collect coins and Lionel Trains and was an avid Golfer and Bowler. Mr. La Spina also raised and raced homing pigeons for the Lakeland Flying Club for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Mary (nee Arianno), his loving children, Frank P.and his wife Marie, Carmela Vitale and her husband Sal, Margaret Mary (Peggy) Conrad and her late husband John, Mary Ann Carr and her husband Walter, his dear sister, Jennie Marinaccio, his devoted 8 grandchildren and his dear 8 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Tuesday, March 2, 9AM from the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main St., Madison with a funeral mass at 10AM at Holy Family church, Florham Park. Internment St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. Visitation Monday 2-4 - 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Florham Park First Aid Squad in his memory would be appreciated.
