John Logan


John P. Logan, Sr., 81, died August 25, 2006 surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was a truly wonderful man and will forever be remembered. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church where he was a member. Entombment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.

A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Catherine Murray and Joseph Logan. He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran and a member of the 459th Bomb Group of the Fifteenth Air Force. He was a retired officer with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C.. He was 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus, Past District Deputy, and Past Grand Knight. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bob, Jim, Joe, and a daughter in law Sharon Boone Logan.

Survivors include his wife Geraldine "Geri" Logan of the home; daughter Jane Ostericher and her husband Bob, M.D. of Gig Harbor, WA; sons John P. Logan, Jr. of Kernersville, Ronald J. Logan and his wife Bobbie of Cary, and Michael F. Logan and his wife Joyce of Stoneville; brother Jerry Logan of Rhode Island; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4-6PM Sunday night at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.
