John Paparazzi
John M. Paparazzi, Sr, 81, of Mountain Rd., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 unexpectedly in his home after being stricken ill.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on Nov. 20, 1921, a son of Frank and Rapheal (Napadano) Paparazzi, he grew up in Brooklyn and lived there many years.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater with the 756th Bomb Squad. He was awarded the European Campaign Medal and Ribbon with a Silver and two Bronze Service Stars., World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Service Badge and American Campaign Medal.
He moved from Long Island to Northfield in 1968 where he and his wife operated a general store and antique shop, later coming to Erving in 1986. While living in New York he worked as an upholsterer for many years. His wife of 56 years, Louise J. (Perrone) Paparazzi, died in 1999. He leaves a son, John M. Paparazzi, Jr. of Melbourne, Fla; a grandson, John L. Paparazzi of New York City; a brother, Dominick Paparazzi of Inverness, Fla.; a sister, Rose Giordano of Stoneham; several nephews and nieces. At his request there are no funeral services.
