Ploesti Romania O-R 08/18/1944
This mission was another part of the 15th AF campaign to destroy the Ploesti Oil Refineries in the Ploesti, Romania oil fields and refinery complex which supplied over 30 percent of Germany`s petroleum needs.
Mission # 91 Oil Refinery Mission No.91 on 8-18-44 was another mission to the Ploesti Romania Oil Refinery Complex to knock out Germany`s oil supplies. This was a concerted effort to repeatedly bomb this important German oil source by high level daylight formation bombing by Bomb Groups of the 15th AF.
