Charles Moore

Sgt Charles R Moore was assigned to the 459th BG 758th Squadron.
Military Occupational Specialty (MOS): Engineer/Gunner.

Top turret gunner and flight engineer from Canastota N.Y. His B-24 forced to land due to engine difficulties in Belgrade for some time and was picked up and treated very well by Yugoslav partisans in the city. Belgrade had been liberated from the Germans by that time. He was incorrectly reported as KIA in the local newspaper and then apparantly one day he appeared walking down the road toward home (first seen by his brother) with his bags over his shoulder.

Currently alive and well living in Homestead Fla.
