Frederick F. Sadri CHARLOTTE - Mr. Frederick F. Sadri, 92, of Charlotte, NC died peacefully at his residence on March 4, 2016. Mr. Sadri was born in London, England on July 11, 1923. He grew up in Paris, France and moved to the United States, with his American step-mother, in 1939, as a result of WWII events. Upon high school graduation from Montclair Academy in New Jersey, he was admitted into MIT (Boston) in 1942. In his second semester at MIT, having earned US citizenship, he was drafted into the Air Corps and served in the 15th Air Force 459th Bomb Group based out of Cerignola, Italy, as a radio operator and gunner on B-24 bombers. Upon discharge, he returned to MIT and graduated with a degree in Architecture in 1950, only to be recalled to duty during the Korean Conflict. He served as 1st Lt. Company Commander in the Signal Corps at Camp Gordon, Augusta, GA. Mr. Sadri spoke fondly of his time in Georgia as this is where he met his loving wife of 63 years, in Savannah. After three years of architecture in Georgia, Oregon and California, Mr. and Mrs. Sadri moved back to the North Carolina area and settled permanently in Charlotte. Mr. Sadri retired from architecture in 1989 as a principal with Odell Associates. He was a long time tennis player and member of Olde Providence Racquet Club, and a member of Myers Park United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving family; wife, Martha Jonas Sadri; daughters, Becca Sadri and Susan Sundberg; son, John Sadri (Allison); grandchildren, Jordon Sadri, Madison Sadri and Trudi Sundberg. A memorial service will be held at Myers Park United Methodist Church on Tuesday March 8, 2016, at 3pm. The family will receive friends following the service at the church congregation hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Myers Park United Methodist Church or Hospice of Charlotte. The family would like to thank the employees of Brookdale Carriage Club Providence, Hospice of Charlotte and the family dogwalkers for their care and support.
