Chuck Carroll was a co- pilot in the 758th BS at the same time as Chuck Culpepper / Reid Waltman`s crew. In fact, he was in the next tent to Reid's and finished his missions on the same day as Reid did. They were both on the same last mission to Amstten, Austria, 459th Bomb Group Mission # 212R(Red) ,March 16,1945. After all these years it is hard to be certain, but the possibility exists that Reid Waltman actually flew with Chuck Carroll`s crew as Navigator. Chuck Culpepper had already finished up his missions and Reid had to fly with another crew on his last mission ( there is a story about this last mission for both Chuck Carroll and Reid Waltman that is related under Servicemen Stories elsewhere).
